SonRise TV-17 MISSION STATEMENT

To Enhance the television ministry of First Baptist Church of West Monroe, by developing and operating a low-power TV and cable station as a medium of reaching our community 24 hours per day with the Gospel of the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and to fill a void in local quality family programming.

TV-17 HISTORY

m_1_pic Born as a dream of Dr. David Uth and others at First Baptist in the spring of 1997, TV-17 is now best known for its airing of the services of First Baptist Church and West Monroe High School Football. TV-17 is a FamilyNet affiliate, received its permanent FCC license in 2001, and was granted its call letters KWMS in 2002. TV-17 is now broadcasting on every cable system in Ouachita Parish, except for Time-Warner, and is also on the Cox System in Bastrop, La.
